- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) may occur in people who may or
may not know of pre-existing cardiac conditions.
- SCA may occur in individuals who "appear" very active and
healthy. These individuals may have no known cardiac disease
or other health problems.
- Most victims of SCA may already have heart disease or other
health problems that they are unaware of.
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest is when the heart has an electrical
problem, malfunctions and suddenly, unexpectedly, stops
beating. When this happens blood stops flowing to the brain
and other essential organs of the body.
- A sudden cardiac event may be caused by fatal arrhythmias
